Birthdays, shoes, school and moving soon

Hello, hello,

It was my mother-in-law’s birthday a couple of weeks ago, which we the family celebrated last weekend at my lovely sister-in-law’s house. She has just turned 70! But I don’t think you could tell. She still goes to badminton and weekly tracks and has fun bouncing on the trampoline! Good on her!

It was her side of the family (and the ‘tag-alongs’ like me…haha) who got together for a family BBQ and cake-fest. This lot is so down to earth and lots of fun to be around. There were about 20 adult and 10 kids. The kids ranged in age from 11 months to 11 years old, but they all got along so well and entertained each other, we couldn’t stop smiling at them and commenting and ‘yay-ing’, because we had some adult time and could chat!

One of Ian’s cousin, Kirstin, who is a very creative girl and makes all sorts (and has calligraphic handwriting!) turned up in a pair of gorgeous shoes! I had to take a photo of it, so I could show them to you.

Aren’t they fabulous?! I so want a pair!! She of course had a matching outfit, which just made it lovelier.

So with birthday funs over for a little while we are now concentrating on Max starting his ‘big boys’ school’ this week (EEEEEEeeeeeek…!!!!!!!!!!) and the movers turning up with all our stuff on Saturday and my dad-in-law and I painting the children’s room and the lounge after we get the keys on Thursday. (again: EEEEeeeekkkk!!!!)

Fun times.
